One that takes heavy influence from the classic top down Zelda titles. While gameplay isn't as tight as Zelda, Blood Omen is one of the better classic Zelda clones around. A strong showing of level design and exploration through this merciless world.

And this world of Nosgoth, the lands of Blood Omen is one of the better worlds you'll find in games. A gritty world where parties have their own goals and motivations. With the chessboard shifting on a regular basis. From the pawns to the bigger players.

Taking a theatrical, Shakesperian approch, you have a story with a timeless flair. One setting the foundations for the series moving forward. Where developer Crystal Dynamics would take full control of the franchise. But here in Blood Omen, this was a joint work between Crystal Dynamics and Silicon Knights - best known for Eternal Darkness.

Before playing Blood Omen, I've had little experience with the franchise. I did play Soul Reaver 2 on a PS2 demo disk, but that was more or less it. With the remastered Soul Reavers from a few months back, it got me thinking about the series again. So let's start with the origins of the series, Blood Omen.
