Ontario, Canada (October 3, 2019) – Moon Collider and Apocalypse Studios are pleased to be able to break the silence on our partnership on the Apocalypse production: Deadhaus Sonata. Founded by Denis Dyack, an industry veteran known for his Lovecraftian gothic fantasy RPGs including Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, Apocalypse is a new studio based in Niagara. Deadhaus Sonata is a free-to-play Action RPG and promises to be a spiritual successor to Denis’ previous works. Contrary to the usual approach of a noble hero defending against mindless hordes, one to six players take on the role of the undead, wreaking destruction and feeding on the warm-blooded masses in the dark fantasy setting of Nogosaua...
All modern societies are built upon the myths and legends of the past. Before there was science, it was stories of gods and heroes that explained the often harsh realities of nature. Many of the myths still resonating within European and North American cultures come from the Norse people-a people who had to learn to live within some of the harshest environments on our planet. Ontario, Canada (August 15, 2019) – Apocalypse Studios invites gamers everywhere to contribute to the world-building of Deadhaus Sonata by partnering with Dungeon Fog, World Anvil, Great GM, and Caeora by utilizing Project Deios. “Project Deios is an amazing full-stack world building tool that allows designers to create areas of different scales, from dungeons and towns to entire worlds”, said Denis Dyack, CEO of Apocalypse. “From the early perception of Deadhaus Sonata, we wanted the community to contribute to the dark, Gothic world of Deadhaus Sonata and this vision will be realized through the power of Project Deios. We could not have imagined better partners for this endeavour.” With Project Deios integrated in the development...
DEAN TAKAHASHI from Venture Beat discusses Deadhaus Sonata with Denis Dyack! Denis Dyack‘s latest game is Deadhaus Sonata, where the player is an undead character fighting the living. And Dyack thinks that’s a good parallel for his own life in gaming… “When I talk about the House of the Dead, I feel like I’m talking about myself,” Dyack said in an interview at last week’s DICE Summit in Las Vegas. “Silicon Knights is dead. It’s never coming back. With the launch of Apocalypse, I’ve gone through some things and can bring that experience to light in ways that I think are refreshing and new.” https://venturebeat.com/2019/02/21/denis-dyack-is-coming-back-from-the-dead-with-deadhaus-sonata/
