They've actually managed to make it feel like a horror game imo. There are so many of these 4vE "Left 4 Dead like" games that have horror elements in them, but are straight up little action fests. In GTFO the enemies actually feel dangerous and speed running isn't really rewarded.
You mentioned that contrary to several of the other kinds of undead there wasn't that much source material to gather on wights. I think it was Denis who said that on stream.

They wouldn't even have to fully fly imo. Gargs like floating ghost type characters could easily have some kind of "able to stand in the fire, because they don't actually stand" mechanic going on. Because I mean... Don't stand in the fire.
What about constructs with a particularly undead feel to them?
bone/flesh golems that maybe don't pick up weapons, they just get a particularly useful limb attached.
