Not sure if companions are planned but if they are then perhaps they could consist of other classes, though obviously not as powerful as a players.

Ghouls are typically created from humans who drink vampiric blood without their own being drain beforehand. Perhaps the playable ghouls are part of a new breed that have evolved and no longer accept being servants to vampires; but the playable vampire class can still create the lesser ghouls that will still serve them dutifully.

A playable ghoul could get their hands on a liche's phylactery, eating and incorperating it so as to become the phylactery and create a reluctant liche companion that helps only to ensure their own survival.

A revenant could come across a fledgling vampire that was abandoned after being turned just so their newfound, uncontrollable hunger could be directed at their loved ones to amuse their master; and they agree to help, in exchange for help in their revenge against said master.

Very cool idea, not just from a game play aspect, but such a mechanic would also reinforce the narrative idea of the dead propagating more dead. Starting out on your own, but eventually becoming strong enough to take a "Thrall" of sorts would be really neat! You guys already talked a bit in Fuel for the Fight about the idea of both Ghouls and Vampires using blood as "resource". What if the Vampire could drain blood from victims, but siphon it to the Ghoul to empower it. Meanwhile the Ghoul, once it "overindulges" could have the Vampire leech the excess blood off it, creating a mutually beneficial synergy. Just one example, but I would love to see features where one classes abilities could directly benefit the abilities of another whether it's through a companion or a player character online.

Sounds cool. I once thought about having this as a companion lol
