Hate isn't what I'm looking to generate, maybe a little bit of a healthy rivalry; but based on what we know of the classes so far, which undead would you say you are least interested in playing and why?

My choice would have to be the vampire. As a Legacy of Kain fan that sounds blasphemous to say but it is the truth. I've always had an aversion to playing what might be considered the standard class, the all rounder, something capable of everything but not particularly masterful in anything, and what might be the easier class to gain proficiency in for new comers. I like a challenge when it comes to the learning curve, provided it pays off of course; and as a result, overcoming the weaknesses of your chosen discipline within it as opposed opting for solutions within another.

I'm not saying I'll never play the vampire, but I feel confident in saying I'd likely play everything else that is available before that happens.

There is my answer and explanation, how about you?

I agree totally! I just showed my boyfriend the poll and said vampire is in the lead but I don't want to do it and he just looked at me in shock, because he loves LoK. I couldn't find a way to put it in words until you just did so thank you!! It's just the challenge of trying something new that you have zero past knowledge about, the ability to be caught off-guard (not saying that isn't possible with vampire but the other classes just seem to be teeming with mystery!).

The other one I am medium-excited for instead of overwhelmingly-excited for would be Revenant. I know that's another of the favs but I've never been a fan of bulky tank-types, and from what I can gather now I think that's more what he will feel like? I don't want to assume types or anything really so I'm trying to keep an open mind, I could be totally wrong.

Honestly I'm going to agree. Vampire is lowest on my "want to play" list. I love vampires, I loved the vamps in LoK, I love the vampires of World of Darkness, etc etc...but as the all-around class, I feel like vampire is going to be very underwhelming. It'll be capable of everything but excel at nothing. I like team games where I can specialize. Give me a role and MY way to support the team and I'll do it. Like I wanna play Liche...if that's ranged magic DPS, lemme at it. I will spam powers and damage and summons etc all day. If I'm a healer, I'll keep y'all alive. If I'm meant to CC enemies, I'll slow and freeze them bois as much as I can.

I just don't wanna be the "I'm DPS, but the actual DPS makes my character really meh cus they're meant to DPS" or "I'm tank, but this Revenant is out-tanking me at every step cus he's built for it." etc.

I am deeeefinitely in the minority here, but I think probably Liche is the class I'm least interested in. That whole "I'm so good at magic that I just magic'd myself out of death" has just really never interested me. I like the idea that what's made you undead isn't really under your control.

I am deeeefinitely gonna be playing Vampire first, lol

Honestly - we know nothing so far. If I had to choose based on generic archetypes it would be a tight match between the revenant and the liche just because so far they seem like the most generic warrior and mage classes. I know that this probably would not be the case. The vampire in particular presents the most interest to me because he is a jack of all trades and that often means quite a lot of customization. Also being a jack and not a specialist makes it all the more sweeter when you come up with a build that would rival and even outright beat that specialized class in said area.

I think the idea behind all of them is very interesting. Hard to say which one I would be less interested in trying. But I would say that would be the Ghoul. The main reason is that I don't identify myself with its form or gluttony.

In the end, I'll play all of them, and if things go the way they seem to be going, I'll enjoy all of them.

So its treason then..

My pick for least likely to pick up is surprisingly not Vampire, but rather Revenant. Thematically I really like the Revenant, and I'm a perpetual tank main in games, but the Revenant's rage mechanic (from what the team has talked about in the past) seems pretty uninteresting to me. Punch stuff/be punched by stuff to build up meter for better punch.
Only time will tell I guess.

Yeah, you convinced me. The Revenant is the one I want to try out the least. At least with the information we've got so far.

But, about the Revenant... all we did was speculation. We aren't really sure what his mechanics are going to be in the end. :)

It is a fair point about the Revenant. It being the embodiment of the physical means it ought to embrace all aspects physical prowess, not just as it relates it to tanking. There could be Revenant builds that afford them speeds on par with vampires, perhaps even surpassing them.

Imagine a Revenant build that allowed you to channel your violet flames like spells of extreme destruction and empowerment.

Edit
Based on what we know at the moment it is my second least favorite.

I think that's a point often forgotten - physical does not mean tank, nor does it actually mean even melee if you think about it. A giant bow is just as physical as a giant sword. And so are momentum and gravity although you cannot see them. Revenants being the most tightly tied to the physical realm might mean that they can exert the greatest amount of influence on the physical realm overall without having to do it with their physical form necessarily. Deadhaus might be ruled by a revenant because Deadhaus exists in a predominantly physical realm and the revenants are the masters of manipulating that realm on every level.

Least likely to play for me would be the Vampire. Reason being: It's all I've ever gotten to play in other mediums when I want to be undead. Vampires are cool in their own way but I just want to run around as a skeleton, or a ghost, or just anything undead that's not a Vampire.

In a nutshell: Vampires are overdone for me.

I would have to say Ghoul's are my least favorite of the lot, mangy undead that thay are I hold no love for there kind. The aesthetics of the Ghoul's are just not for me.

I personally find it amusing that some people are shying away from the Vampire class. There's nothing wrong with that decision, I just find the two reasons I keep seeing interesting.

Firstly, a lot of people don't know the entire phrase, which leads them to think a 'jack-of-all-trades' style class is a bad thing. The original phrase in it's entirety is "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." The phrase is meant as a compliment to the personal versatility.

The second popular reason I see people shy away is because of the popularity of vampires in general. Everyone likes them, but they want to stand out. But it's hard to stand out when everyone likes the same thing. Hell, even I constantly fall into that line of thinking ALL THE TIME. And yes, I find amusement in myself when I do that as well.

Both those being said, at the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their opinion, regardless of reasons. I just want to throw some thought candy out their.

The only class I'm shying away from myself is the Banshee. Although little is known yet, my reasoning for staying away from the class is quite simple really. I don't like loud noises. Banshees are known to scream.... a lot. No thank you.

I am a hardcore fan of the series.

I don't know that vampires are least on my list, but they certainly aren't at the top.

Generally speaking I'm a caster player, and I think liches are bad ass in concept so that's my first stop.

I think there is value in playing a default class to get started in a new game to learn to explore the base systems, but given how this is being marketed at the moment (ie, Denis Dyack fans who are probably 30-50 years old) the pool of players is likely to be experienced gamers who know enough about gaming tropes to feel confident jumping into any role they really identify with, and I wouldn't think it's weird that a lot of fans of the Blood Omen stuff are into vampires.

That said, I suspect this will see a much larger uptick in first time trials as the game comes to reach younger audiences that are still in the 18+ crowd... or at least I am kinda hoping it's an 18+ game. I can see why they would opt for a 13+ game (wider audience can equal more money, though not necessarily when you look at stuff like Deadpool's box office), but I feel like we'd lose a lot of the absolutely necessary grittiness many of us are here for.
